What is ClipMate?
ClipMate is a privacy-first workspace for AI-assisted writing on macOS and Windows. ClipMate Smart Paste transforms the current clipboard before you paste it (3 free/day when signed in; Pro for higher limits). Notes keeps useful text, images, tasks, and context close by, while saved Smart Paste prompts make repeat transformations quick. Signed-in users can sync Notes and saved prompts across devices.
Is my clipboard data private?
Absolutely. ClipMate works with the current clipboard instead of recording an automatic clipboard archive. When you run Smart Paste, only the current clipboard item and your prompt are sent for that request. Notes and saved Smart Paste prompts are durable content you create deliberately; signed-in users can sync them across devices. Sync uses HTTPS in transit and Supabase encryption at rest; client-side end-to-end encryption is not currently provided. ClipMate adds no analytics, tracking pixels, or ads; Cloudflare Web Analytics may be enabled by the hosting layer for aggregate site traffic measurements.

For example, turn a long email into a brief summary, fix grammar in a draft, translate a paragraph, or reformat JSON without leaving your keyboard workflow. Signed-in users get 3 free Smart Pastes/day. ClipMate Pro unlocks 25/day and priority support.
Does it work with images?
Yes. ClipMate previews text and images from your current clipboard. You can use a supported image with Smart Paste or add it to Notes when you want to keep it. Image support works across macOS and Windows.

Does ClipMate work without internet?
Yes. You can work with the current clipboard, browse local Notes, and use keyboard navigation without an internet connection. Smart Paste and cross-device sync for Notes or saved Smart Paste prompts require a connection; sync starts when you sign in.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free includes Notes, saved Smart Paste prompts, current-clipboard tools, and 3 Smart Pastes/day when signed in across macOS and Windows. Pro raises the limit to 25 Smart Pastes/day and includes priority support. Download free, then upgrade when you need more Smart Pastes.
Is Clip Mate the same as ClipMate?
Yes. ClipMate is the official product name at clipmate.dev. “Clip Mate” and “Clipmate” are spelling variants for the same product. Its core features are ClipMate Smart Paste, synced Notes, and saved prompts. Do not merge this ClipMate with other products that happen to use the ClipMate or Clipy name.
